The Zap Carioca platform enables various city departments to engage with their target audiences through a streamlined tool that recognizes the importance of timely and appropriate communication.

For instance, if you apply for a permit, you can receive updates on the progress of your request via Zap. If your vehicle is towed, notifications will be sent instantly at the moment the action occurs. The app also allows parents to confirm their child's registration, provides alerts regarding fines appeals, and notifies municipal employees when their online pay slips are available.

Additional functionalities are expected to be integrated gradually into Zap Carioca, expanding its service offerings over time.

To utilize Zap Carioca effectively, citizens must be registered on the Carioca Digital platform (http://carioca.rio).

• Initially, the application supports unidirectional communication from the city hall to citizens and public servants.
• It provides individual alerts, group notifications, and neighborhood-specific updates.
• For neighborhood alerts, users should specify their areas of interest within Carioca Digital under the "Edit Profile" section (http://carioca.rio).
